I know it is a few days late but we have arrived in France! After a seven hour flight that I (Jes) did not sleep thru, we arrived at Charles de Gaul airport and successfully got on the local train to Paris - still not sure how as all the ticket machines were in French!
John had his first real Parisien experience on the escalator when he saved a girl from tumbling down the stairs as her oversized suitcase nearly took her down....luckily John caught her and avoided an extremely embarrassing domino effect on a train station escalator in broad daylight. Unfortunately we only know a handful of French phrases so we did not know how to ask her if she was ok...but we understood when she said "Merci!" (thank you).
